The Palmer Daniels Enneagram Professional Training Program (EPTP) – Now The Narrative Enneagram (TNE) Training Programs

The Narrative Enneagram Training Programs are of great significance to David Daniels. David and co-founder Helen Palmer were pioneers in bringing rigorous training classes, workshops and intensives to the avid students worldwide. 

From its early days, founded in 1988 to today, thousands of students have enrolled in the curriculum and training they founded. The First Palmer Daniels Enneagram Professional Training Program (EPTP) was held in 1988. (Historic photo of participants.)

1988 – Founding of: The Palmer Daniels Enneagram Professional Training Program (EPTP)

2005 – Renamed: The Enneagram Studies in the Narrative Tradition (ESNT)

2018 – Renamed: The Narrative Enneagram

The Palmer Daniels Enneagram Professional Training program was founded on the principles of:

      1. Learning the Enneagram through the narrative tradition where Enneagram types speak for themselves, observing or using their inner witness to report on their thoughts, attention, emotions, motivations, and somatic sensations
      2. Bringing rigor to the curriculum and certification of teachers

      TNE provides wonderful material, much of which David had contributed over the years. Since its inception in 1988, David had espoused the value of the Narrative Tradition where individuals speak about “their type” for themselves, often in “Enneagram type panels,” where each person shares their knowledge and experience of themselves, with an attending, studious audience.  To do this, TNE has been the forerunning developer of a deep process of inquiry, exploration, and is an open forum for the sharing of Enneagram types understanding. The Palmer Daniels Enneagram Professional Training Program was the first training program of the modern Enneagram, and David co-founded this program with colleague Helen Palmer who learned the Enneagram system from Claudio Naranjo in Berkeley, California in the 1970s.
